Polynucleotides

Your appointment begins with a consultation and skin assessment to check your concerns, treatment area, medical history, suitability and expectations.

The treatment area is cleansed and prepared. Polynucleotides are then placed into the skin using a series of small injections. The technique depends on the area being treated, the product selected and your skin condition.

Small bumps, redness or swelling may be visible immediately after treatment. This is expected and usually settles as the product disperses.

After treatment, full aftercare advice will be provided.

Polynucleotides are selected when the main goal is to support skin repair, hydration, elasticity and tissue quality rather than volume or facial reshaping.

They may be recommended for clients with tired, crepey, delicate or ageing skin, especially where the skin needs gradual improvement rather than an instant cosmetic change.

A course is usually recommended because results develop gradually. Polynucleotides are not usually a one-treatment miracle. The skin response builds over time.

Under-eye polynucleotides may be suitable for selected clients with crepey skin, fine lines, thin-looking skin or poor skin quality around the eyes. They are not suitable for every under-eye concern. Puffiness, large eye bags, deep hollows, fluid retention or pigmentation-related dark circles may need a different approach.

Polynucleotides may be suitable if your skin looks tired, thin, crepey, dehydrated, fragile or less elastic, and you want gradual improvement in skin quality rather than added volume.

Treatment may need to be delayed or avoided if there is active infection, inflammation in the area, pregnancy, breastfeeding, certain medical conditions, allergy risk, poor healing or if the skin is not suitable for injectable treatment.

Polynucleotide results develop gradually. The skin may start to look more hydrated, smoother, firmer and healthier over time, but improvement is progressive rather than instant.

Most clients need a course of treatments for best results, especially when treating under-eye skin quality, fine lines, crepey texture or loss of elasticity.

Polynucleotides do not replace dermal filler, surgery or medical treatment. They will not remove deep eye bags, lift heavy skin or erase deep wrinkles. Their role is to improve skin quality, resilience and tissue condition.

Temporary redness, swelling, small bumps, tenderness, injection marks or bruising may occur after treatment.

Under-eye treatments can carry a higher risk of temporary swelling because the area is delicate and more prone to fluid retention.

After treatment, you will usually need to avoid makeup, heat treatments, intense exercise, alcohol, exfoliating acids, retinoids and direct sun exposure for the advised period. SPF is essential.
